Libraries
Bridgend has 13 Libraries, a Mobile Library, Cyberlink and a Central Reference and Information Centre.
All libraries welcome children and young people of all ages and their parents/carers. It doesn?t matter how young, any child can join the library free of charge. Children can borrow up to 10 books, including story tapes, for up to 3 weeks at a time. Every library has a wide selection of books both in English and Welsh languages, including books for babies, picture books, large print books, dual language books, storybooks, poetry books and information books for homework and leisure.
Some libraries also have music and CD-ROMs to borrow, though there is a small charge for these. 14 libraries in Bridgend offer free Internet access call into any of them for more details.
A wide range of materials, information and events are available for young people of all ages (babies to teens).
Bookstart ? distributes FREE books to babies when they attend a 7-9 month health check at a clinic.
Bounce and Rhyme ? sessions encourage parents/carers to sing songs and rhymes with their babies and begin sharing simple stories.
Great Reads ? an idea of some great books out at the moment.
Storytime- a chance to hear some lovely stories in your local library.
