Real Nappies - easier to use than you might think!

Kath says: "The thing that really convinced us to give real nappies a go was reading somewhere that virtually every nappy ever used is still lying around somewhere on the planet. What an awful thought!

Bridgend Children's Information Service launched its new website in July. Parents and childcare providers are now able to get up-to-date information about childcare provision and support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Bridgend County Borough primary school pupils will be enjoying new healthier school meals from the 8 May. An improved new menu is being launched with a strong focus on fruit, vegetables and salads which will be served alongside nutritious main course meals.

Carolyn Hamilton, the Director of the Children's Legal Centre - an independent national charity concerned with law and policy affecting children and young people has the following advice for parents.

The Children’s Information Service aims to provide up-to-date and relevant information. To do this we would like your help and suggestions:

• Are there any children’s activities/clubs/events that you know about and think other parents would like to know about?
• Have you got any events going on that you would like us to attend or put on the website?
• Have you set up a parent and toddler group in your area?
• What else you would like from our website?
• Would you like the information in other formats rather than just text?

To the background sound of Guns & Roses "Sweet Child of Mine" the launch of the Children's Information Service Website took place at Betws Life Centre. Guests were invited from the council, the voluntary sector, childcare service providers and support workers.

The array of cans painted a colourful picture as the long awaited 'Metal Miles' came to an electrifying celebration with over 80,000 cans lining the floor of Bridgend Rec.
