Have you thought of a career in childcare?
If you've been thinking about finding a job helping children to learn and grow we hope you find the following booklet very useful. It's been produced to give you a real insight into the rewards and challenges you can expect when working with young children.
Hopefully, the booklet will help you decide whether a job working with young children will suit the type of person you are. After all, you'll be expected to play a key role in the lives of the children under your wing, and help to lay a solid foundation for the development of each and every child in your care during these crucial early years.
The Welsh Assembly Government aims to give our youngest citizens the best possible start to life and the best chances to develop. Central to this is an effort to increase the numbers of appropriately skilled staff working in the 'early years' field (ages 0-10 yrs).
A new campaign was launched on 27th August with the aim to promote the benefits of working within the childcare, early years and play sector. A booklet has been produced to provide a real insight into the rewards and challenges you can expect when working with young children. The relaunch fo the campaign starts 4th February, for more information visit the Play Learn Grow site below.
It covers all the different career options available to you, provides advice on the qualifications you'll need and explains what training is available to help you go further in your new career.
